The purposes for which the Foundation is formed are those set forth in its Articles of Incorporation, as from time to time amended; namely, to advance and foster the cause of instrumental music education in the elementary and secondary schools in the United States. The Foundation is not formed for pecuniary or financial gain, and no part of the assets, income, or profit of the Foundation is distributable to, or inures to the benefit of its directors or officers except to the extent permitted under the Iowa Nonprofit Corporation Act, Chapter 504A, 1985 Code of Iowa. No part of the activities of the Foundation shall be the carrying on of propaganda, or otherwise attempting, to influence legislation, and the Foundation shall not participate in, or intervene in (including, the publishing or distribution of statements) an political campaign on behalf of any candidate for public office.
