Award Certificates

ASBDA offers its members the opportunity to present special award certificates that can be downloaded and printed from here.

(It is suggested that, as these certificates bear the ASBDA name and logo, they be reserved for occasions and honors worthy of them so as not to dilute their importance.)

Founding Committee Awards

The first National Organizing Committee that helped to create ASBDA consisted of three very prolific educators, all of whom made their mark in different ways. The following three certificates are named for the members of the committee and reflect their particular passions in the criteria for the award. It is highly suggested that these awards be printed on quality paper, framed, and then presented in a public setting such as a concert or community event.

The Captain James C. Harper Certificate

Designed to recognize an outstanding student leader, preferably a junior or senior, whose work ethic and leadership skills are an inspiration to their fellow musicians. The student should be a motivator and a selfless worker who is sensitive to the needs of others. Ideally, this award should not have connections to contributions during the marching band season as the focus of ASBDA is the advocacy of the concert band.
